About the event
In Greek mythology, Charis (/ˈkeɪrɪs/; Ancient Greek: Χάρις "grace, kindness, and life") is one of the Charities (Greek: Χάριτες) or "Graces", goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity and fertility; and in Homer's Iliad. Charis was also known as Cale ("Beauty") or Aglaea ("Splendor"). CHARIS fits well as the title for this garden show; a combination of beauty, nature, and human creativity shown in the works of art displayed for you. Summer solstice is almost upon us with it's symbolism all about light. Natalia Kuna says, "The summer solstice is a celebration of the return to light, and it so powerfully reminds us of the light within each of us and the full potential of our individuated as well as united light or christ consciousness". As you observe these works, think upon some of these themes, giving reflection to the signs of brightness that have formed consistently and hopefully all around us on this green earth.
